The La Paz County Community Resource Department, led by the Community Resource Director, oversees the operation of a number of federally and locally funded community resource and service programs, including the La Paz County Food Banks, the fiscal management of the La Paz Career Center, and programs and projects funded by Community Development Block Grants and other grant funds not specifically allocated to any other department. The types of projects managed by the Community Resource Department for which the Department solicits funds include public facility construction and renovation, the administration of community services, workforce development efforts, parks development, and the development of transportation amenities as well as Safe Route to School projects. Often these projects include “green” components and reduce energy usage by public facilities. The Community Resource Director also serves as the La Paz Enterprise Zone Administrator for the La Paz County Enterprise Zone Commission, a joint commission established through the cooperation of La Paz County, the Colorado River Indian Tribes, and the Towns of Parker and Quartzsite.
