The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restriction on Interstate 10 in Tonopah beginning Tuesday, Nov. 12. Maintenance crews are scheduled to apply oil-based sealant on the road for pavement preservation. The work is part of multiple pavement preservation projects on highways across the state. The following restrictions will occur from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays beginning Tuesday, Nov. 12 and ending Thursday, Dec. 19. - I-10 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions between mileposts 52 and 71.
- Motorists should anticipate a 5-mile lane restriction while crews progress through the work zone.
- A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
- Alternate routes include using the preceding I-10 exit.
Note: Restrictions will be lifted for the Thanksgiving holiday beginning Friday, Nov. 22, and ending Saturday, Nov. 30. There will be one off-ramp open at a time but motorists are encouraged to detour at the next exit, if available.
